  • Baltimore Boutique Pet Care (BBPC) is seeking a reliable, safety minded, and customer service focused, Overnight Pet Sitter to provide in-home care for client pets. Care primarily includes dogs and cats, with clients located throughout North & East Baltimore.

    This role is ideal for someone who values animal companionship, takes pride in providing attentive care, and has a flexible schedule allowing for regular overnight stays in client homes.

    Job Requirements: 

    • Complete meet & greets with clients to understand each pet’s routine, behavior, medical needs, and home care expectations

    • Provide overnight companionship and care, including feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, and enrichment

    • Follow all client instructions carefully to maintain pets’ normal routines

    • Send daily updates through our messaging system, including photos/videos and written summaries

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of pets and the security of the client’s home

    • Clean up after pets (litter boxes, accidents, etc.)

    • Perform light household tasks such as bringing in mail, watering plants, and tidying up prior to departure (washing used dishes, stripping bed linens, etc.)

    Overnight Expectations: 

    • Arrival and departure times will fluctuate depending on client’s needs and overnight sitters availability

    • Overnight scheduling consists of a 24 hour commitment with the option to add additional half-day coverage, which sitter will be compensated for

    • Sitters may leave during the day for a reasonable period, provided pets are not left alone beyond client-approved time limits

    • Sitter may not bring their own pets when providing overnight care

    Required Skills: 

    • At least 1 year of experience working with dogs and/or cats (professional or volunteer)

    • Ability to successfully pass a background check 

    • Availability for overnight stays, including the possibility of consecutive nights

    • Willingness to work high-demand holidays (e.g., Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve)

    • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation 

    • Strong communication and customer service skills

    • High level of reliability, trustworthiness, and respect for client privacy

    • Ability to handle dogs on leash and lift up to 40 lbs when necessary

    • Animal CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire, company will reimburse once proof of certification is supplied) 

    Preferred Skills: 

    • Ability to occasionally assist with dog walking during peak times (would be limited to less than five walks per week and only when current dog walking team needs assistance)

    Compensation Details:

    Pay per 24 hour increment: $70
    Additional pets payout per 24 hour increment: $25 per additional dog in the home, $5 for cats and other small animals in the home
    Dog sitter is paid per twenty-four hour overnight shift, with additional compensation available for half-day coverage extensions as needed by clients
    Holiday rates apply 
    When tips are provided, they will be fully retained by the overnight-sitter
